This Winter’s Must-Have Quick-Assembly Polaris Sportsman Plows

ATV snow plows aren't too complicated, but they make a massive difference when you're trying to stay ahead of accumulation. The right setup mounts in minutes, adjusts on the fly, and handles everything from light dustings to heavy, wet snow that likes to pile up right where you don't want it. At Everything Polaris Sportsman, we've rounded up quick-assembly plow systems that'll have you and your Sportsman clearing snow instead of messing with complicated installation instructions.

Let's look at three solid options that work with most Sportsman and Sportsman Touring models.

Kolpin Switchblade™ Snow Plow System – The Adjustable Width Wonder

The Kolpin Switchblade™ Snow Plow System does something most plows don't—it gives you two blade widths in one package. If you find yourself wedged into a smaller lane, then go with the 48-inch width. Alternatively, if space is not an issue and you have some serious clearing to do, then the 60-inch width it is.

The Kolpin Switchblade Snow Plow System

The square tube steel chassis is reinforced where it counts, and the stamped steel blade adjusts to five different angle positions. That means you're not stuck pushing snow straight ahead—you can angle it left or right to throw snow exactly where you want it (or more accurately, where you don't want it piling back up on you). At maximum angle, the cutting widths are 43.5" and 54.3" for the respective blade settings.

This is what Kolpin calls a "plow-in-a-box" system, which is their way of saying everything's included except the winch. The under-body mount disperses impact force to the sturdiest part of your ATV's frame, so you're not risking front-end damage when you hit a hidden curb or frozen rut. Assembly takes under an hour according to Kolpin, and the mount can stay on year-round if you want—just pop the blade off when winter's done.

Go With the Black Boar Straight Blade Snow Plow for Easy Clearing

No frills, no complicated setup, no nonsense. The Black Boar Straight Blade Snow Plow is like that car you had for a (freakishly) long time, to everyone’s surprise. It just works. Simple as that. This 48-inch blade mounts straight to your chassis and can be angled in four different positions. Why complicate it?

One thing that helps this plow live longer and work harder is the reversible wear bar. It also helps that the adjustable skid pads give you control over the blade height so you can easily adapt to different surfaces. As always, we wouldn’t offer it if it didn’t boast a super heavy-duty construction featuring powder-coated steel. Surge forth unto the frozen fjord, you valiant vanquisher of snow!

Denali Standard Series Snow Plow Kit – Built Like a Tank

When Denali builds a plow, they don't mess around with gauge thickness. The Denali Standard Series Snow Plow Kit features a blade and leading supports formed from a single piece of 11-gauge steel, with four 7-gauge ribs running the full height.

The Denali Standard Series Snow Plow Kit

This system comes in 50-inch and 60-inch configurations (you pick during checkout). The 17-inch scoop depth and 65-degree attack angle are designed to roll snow up and throw it forward rather than just pushing it along the ground. Included with every kit: 7-gauge Grade 50 steel wear bars, height and angle-adjustable skid feet, push tubes, and all installation hardware.

Denali backs this with a three-year warranty, and they offer upgrade accessories like stiffer rubber flaps, plow markers, pulley fairleads, and cables if you want to enhance functionality. Like the others, you'll need a winch (Denali recommends their VIPER Elite, VIPER Max, or VIPER Midnight models, but most quality winches will work).

Plow Like a Pro With Everything Polaris Sportsman

If you’re going to do it, you might as well do it right. Such is the no-nonsense, gritty philosophy of ATV-ers who know how to get things done the first time. Of course, gumption alone won’t get you there if you’re not working with the right hardware. That’s where we come in. Ready to conquer the snow like an absolute stud?
